...The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a Flood
Advisory for the Kishwaukee River...

  Kishwaukee River at Belvidere affecting Boone County

.Heavy rainfall of three to six inches occurred across the lower
Kishwaukee River basin on Wednesday evening, with spotty additional
rainfall possible overnight. The heavy rain that has already fallen
will continue to lead to a quick rise on the river. It is possible a
warning will be needed if the river looks like it will reach over 9
ft at Belvidere.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...If you encounter a flooded roadway...turn around and
find an alternate route.

  The Kishwaukee River at Belvidere.
* until late Saturday night.
* At 930 PM Wednesday the stage was 4.2 feet.
* Action stage is 6.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will rise to near 8.4 feet by early Friday
  morning.
