Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
305 PM MDT Sun Jul 23 2017

.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Monday...An upper ridge will be over
the Great Basin and central Rockies tonight with a weak west to
northwest flow over the region. The ridge will shift a litte more
to the east on Monday with the mid level winds becoming west to
southwest. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible
over the higher terrain this evening with isolated coverage over
the Urban Corridor. Not much difference on Monday but isolated
thunderstorms will exist over much of the northeast plains late
in the day. Locally heavy rain, wind gusts to 35 mph and frequent
cloud to ground lightning the main threats.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Monday night through Friday...
Only poor to moderate humidity recovery will occur Monday night
with a very warm and mainly dry airmass in place. Tuesday will
start off quite warm and dry, but we should see an uptick in
moisture late in the day into Tuesday night as an upper level
disturbance brings more monsoonal moisture in the area. By
Wednesday into Thursday, look for cooler temperatures, higher
humidities, and a better chance of storms with heavier rainfall.
This will occur behind a cold front that moves across the plains.
Somewhat drier and warmer conditions may then develop by Friday into
next weekend.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
