FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
313 AM CDT TUE MAY 31 2016

.DISCUSSION...
SUMMER LIKE WEATHER IS EXPECTED TODAY AND WEDNESDAY WITH HIGHS
IN THE 90S AND ISOLATED SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE IN THE
AFTERNOONS. THE REGION OF SHOWERS THAT HAVE DEVELOPED OVER CENTRAL
MS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN JUST WEST OF THE AREA THROUGH EARLY MORNING.
BY MID MORNING TO EARLY AFTERNOON WE COULD SEE SOME OF THIS ACTIVITY
APPROACH NW AL. GOOD HEATING TODAY WILL ALLOW DRIER AIR ALOFT TO MIX
DOWN TO THE SURFACE WITH AFTERNOON RH VALUES LOWERING TO THE 30-35
PERCENT RANGE.

WINDS SHIFT TO THE SOUTH ON WEDNESDAY ALLOWING FOR MOISTURE TO RETURN
TO THE AREA. THUNDERSTORMS MAY BECOME MORE SCATTERED IN NATURE ON
THURSDAY AS A FRONT NEARS AND EVENTUALLY STALLS OUT. THIS STALLED FRONT
WILL ALLOW FOR SCATTERED SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT OVER THE
WEEKEND WITH THE HIGHEST CHANCES COMING EACH AFTERNOON. RAIN CHANCES
TAPER OFF HEADING INTO NEXT WEEK AS WINDS SHIFT TO THE NW AND SLIGHTLY
COOLER AND DRIER AIR FILTERS INTO THE REGION.
