Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
Nantional Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
407 AM CDT Thu Jun 29 2017

.DISCUSSION...

Today will be very hot, with temperatures around 10 to 15 degrees
above normal, and RHs this afternoon below 15% for all but far
eastern zones. 20ft winds will remain below critical levels for all
but the Guadalupe Mtns and Van Horn Area, where winds 15-25 mph are
possible this afternoon. Given recent rainfall and greenup, only
elevated to marginally critical fire weather conditions are expected
this afternoon, thus have issued a Fire Danger Statement for these
areas. While Friday will be another hot day, winds will be lighter,
precluding additional fire weather concerns.
