FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
National Weather Service Marquette MI
551 AM EDT Wed Sep 20 2017

...SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TODAY AND TONIGHT...
BECOMING UNSEASONABLY WARM FRIDAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND...

.DISCUSSION: A weakening cold front will move across Upper
Michigan this afternoon and tonight, generating scattered showers
and thunderstorms. It will be breezy ahead of the front today
with southerly winds gusting as high as 25 to 35 mph at times. In
the wake of the front, weak high pressure will build over the area
on Thursday. A warm front will then move north across Upper
Michigan Thursday night and Friday morning, bringing a chance of
showers and thunderstorms. Unseasonably warm and humid conditions
will then follow for Friday through Sunday. Some record highs
will likely be set as afternoon temperatures rise into the 80s
across much of Upper Michigan each day. Will be cooler near Lake
Michigan and Lake Huron. There will be a small chance of showers
and thunderstorms over western Upper Michigan Saturday and Sunday.
A cold front slowly moving across the Upper Lakes Monday and
Tuesday will drop temperatures back to near normal by Wednesday.
