NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MEDFORD OR

ECC002-180615-
WEST YREKA-
DISCUSSION FOR WESTERN KLAMATH
511 AM PDT Thu Aug 17 2017

Dry weather will persist over the area today through the weekend.
High pressure aloft and a surface thermal trough along the coast
will continue to bring offshore northeast winds and poor to
moderate humidity recovery in the SW Oregon Coast Range and also
parts of western Siskiyou County. The atmosphere will become a bit
more unstable west of the Cascades this afternoon, then across
the entire area Friday with the potential for active wildfire
behavior. Overall, highs today and Friday will be about 5-10
degrees above normal with slight cooling this weekend. Lightning
chances increase early next week as an upper level disturbance
closes off near the southern California coast.
