METROPOLITAN AREA THROUGH 7 AM THIS MORNING. OVERNIGHT HEAT
INDICES WILL REMAIN ELEVATED IN THE 75 TO 85 DEGREE RANGE.

SLIGHTLY COOLER AND DRIER AIR WILL WORK INTO THE AREA LATER TODAY
...WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES TOPPING OUT IN THE MIDDLE 80S.

* IMPACTS...GIVEN THE COOL SUMMER THUS FAR...THESE CONDITIONS
  MAY LEAD TO A HEIGHTENED RISK OF HEAT RELATED STRESS AND
  ILLNESS... ESPECIALLY FOR THE YOUNG AND ELDERLY...AND THOSE
  WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING.

AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING MEANS THAT DANGEROUSLY HOT TEMPERATURES
