...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LAS VEGAS HAS ISSUED A WIND
ADVISORY FOR MUCH OF THE SOUTHERN GREAT BASIN AND WESTERN MOJAVE
DESERT...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON.

* WINDS: SOUTHERLY WINDS 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS 40 TO 45 MPH.

* TIMING: GUSTY WINDS EXPECTED FOR MUCH OF THE DAY. THE STRONGEST
  WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO COINCIDE WITH A BAND OF PRECIPITATION MOVING
  EAST ACROSS THE REGION. AT ANY ONE LOCATION THE STRONGEST WINDS
  MAY ONLY LAST 1 TO 2 HOURS.

* LOCATIONS: DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK...WESTERN SAN BERNARDINO
  COUNTY...NORTHERN MOHAVE COUNTY...AS WELL AS MUCH OF THE SOUTHERN
  GREAT BASIN INCLUDING LINCOLN...NYE...AND ESMERALDA COUNTIES.

* IMPACTS: WINDS MAY CREATE DIFFICULT TRAVEL CONDITIONS DUE TO GUSTY
  CROSSWINDS AND AREAS OF BLOWING DUST AND SAND. EARLY SEASON WINDS
  MAY CAUSE HIGHER THAN USUAL AMOUNTS OF DOWNED TREE DEBRIS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT CROSSWINDS ARE EXPECTED TO BE STRONG
ENOUGH TO MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE
VEHICLES. IN ADDITION...STRONG WINDS OVER DESERT AREAS COULD RESULT
IN BRIEFLY LOWERED VISIBILITIES TO WELL UNDER A MILE AT TIMES IN
BLOWING DUST OR BLOWING SAND. USE EXTRA CAUTION.
