EAST-CENTRAL US HAS BROUGHT CLEAR SKIES...LOW HUMIDITIES AND GENTLE
WEST-NORTHWEST BREEZES TO EAST-CENTRAL GA AND CENTRAL SC THIS
AFTERNOON.  THIS COMBINATION OF FEATURES HAS BOOSTED TEMPERATURES TO
RECORD LEVELS.

THE TEMPERATURE AT COLUMBIA METRO AIRPORT HAS REACHED 87 DEGREES...
TYING THE HIGH TEMPERATURE RECORD FOR OCTOBER 26TH. THIS WAS FIRST
SET IN 1974.
