Mostly clear skies covered western Kansas overnight after mid
level clouds moved out during the evening hours. The very gusty
northwest winds began to weaken during the evening hours. Peak
wind gusts topped over 50mph in some places during the afternoon.
Low temperatures fell to the mid to upper 20s across eastern
Colorado and western Kansas, with some isolated locations only
slipping to the low 30s.

An upper level ridge will slowly continue to creep to the east
into the Plains through the day today, while at the surface the
high pressure over Kansas will weaken through the day. Windy
conditions will pick up again today with winds gusting upwards of
25mph across western Kansas. The winds will begin to weaken
during the evening hours.

Highs today will range from the upper 50s and lower 60s in
northwest Oklahoma and southwest Kansas to the upper 40s and lower
50s in southern Kansas to the low to mid 40s in the northern half
of Kansas. Lows tonight will fall into the mid to upper 20s across
eastern Colorado and across Kansas.
