...RAINY CONDITIONS AND STRONG WINDS EXPECTED THROUGH SATURDAY...

TROPICAL DISTURBANCE 05F HAS INTENSIFIED TO A TROPICAL DEPRESSION
05F IN THE LAST COUPLE OF HOURS. AT 9 AM LOCAL TIME...TD05F WAS LOCATED
AT 11.3S 170.7W OR ABOUT 220 MILES NORTH OF TUTUILA...ABOUT 200
MILES NORTHWEST OF MANU`A. TROPICAL DEPRESSION 05F IS MOVING
SOUTH-SOUTHEAST SLOWLY...TOWARD TUTUILA AND MANU`A. THE MOTION OF
TROPICAL DEPRESSION 05F WILL BRING FREQUENT SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE ISLANDS THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT ALONG WITH
STRONG AND GUSTY WINDS. FURTHERMORE...STORM FORCE WINDS OF UP TO
35 KTS ARE OBSERVED WITHIN 130 MILES NEAR THE CENTER.

HENCE...THE WIND ADVISORY HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR ALL ISLANDS WITH A
TROPICAL STORM WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY. THERE IS ALSO A GALE
WARNING IN EFFECT FOR SURROUNDING WATERS OF SWAINS ISLANDS AND A GALE
WATCH IN EFFECT FOR NORTHERN WATERS OF TUTUILA AND MANU`A.
ADDITIONALLY...THE WATCH FOR FLASH FLOODING WILL BE UPGRADED TO A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING AS WE ANTICIPATE RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF UP TO 6
INCHES ACROSS THE TERRITORY.

CONTINUE TO MONITOR LOCAL RADIO AND TV MEDIA FOR NEW FORECAST
UPDATES AND MAKE SURE THE SMALL STREAMS AND DRAINAGE OUTLETS ARE
KEPT FREE OF DEBRIS.
