...LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS AND BLACK ICE POSSIBLE TODAY FOR THE
HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF NORTHEAST GEORGIA...

.A STRONG UPPER LEVEL SYSTEM WILL MOVE EAST OF THE STATE TODAY.
THE ASSOCIATED WRAP AROUND MOISTURE AND COLD AIR COULD BRING
OCCASIONAL PERIODS OF LIGHT SNOW TO PARTS OF NORTH GEORGIA TODAY.
LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF
NORTHEAST GEORGIA TODAY WHERE TEMPERATURE AND MOISTURE PROFILES
ARE EXPECTED TO BE MORE FAVORABLE FOR LIGHT SNOW. THERE IS ALSO
A POTENTIAL FOR PATCHES OF BLACK ICE ON ROADS AND BRIDGES THIS
EVENING IN THE NORTH GEORGIA MOUNTAINS AS TEMPERATURES FALL BELOW
FREEZING. IF THIS THREAT IS REALIZED... THEN THIS ADVISORY WILL
LIKELY BE EXTENDED THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR DADE... WALKER... CATOOSA...
WHITFIELD... MURRAY... CHATTOOGA AND GORDON COUNTIES.

ALTHOUGH STILL CANNOT RULE OUT A BRIEF MIX OF LIGHT RAIN AND SNOW
THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS... NO ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED DUE TO
LACK OF AVAILABLE MOISTURE AND ABOVE FREEZING TEMPERATURES ACROSS
NORTHWEST GEORGIA TODAY.

EVENING FOR PARTS OF NORTHEAST GEORGIA...

* LOCATIONS...MAINLY THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS ALONG AND NORTH OF A
  LINE FROM JASPER TO DAWSONVILLE AND CLEVELAND.

* HAZARD TYPES...LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS INITIALLY AND THEN
  TRANSITIONING TO A PATCHY BLACK ICE THREAT THIS EVENING.

* ACCUMULATIONS...AREAS OUTSIDE OF THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS WILL ONLY
  SEE A TRACE TO MAYBE ONE QUARTER INCH OF SNOW TODAY... WHILE
  AREAS ABOVE 1500 TO 2000 FT COULD SEE FROM ONE HALF TO NEAR AN
  INCH OF SNOW IN THE HIGHER MOUNTAIN PEAKS.

* TIMING...MAINLY THROUGH THIS MORNING... BUT OCCASIONAL FLURRIES
  ARE POSSIBLE INTO THE EVENING FOR THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS.

* IMPACTS...LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW AND PATCHES OF BLACK ICE
  ON BRIDGES ARE POSSIBLE INTO THIS EVENING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW
WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR LIGHT
ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW ON LESS TRAVELED ROADS AND BRIDGES. USE
EXTRA CAUTION WHILE DRIVING IN THE NORTH GEORGIA MOUNTAINS TODAY.
