...NWS Meteorologists Currently Surveying Storm Damage in Coosa
County Alabama...

The National Weather Service office in Birmingham AL is currently
conducting storm surveys across Coosa County. The surveys are in
relation to the severe thunderstorms that moved through the area
on 4/2/2024.

A short tornado damage path has been identified in the Alabama
Highway 9 and Kellyton area, with a rating of EF-0 and maximum
winds estimated around 80 mph.

Surveys will be ongoing through this afternoon in other parts of
the county. A final assessment, including full results of all
surveys, will be completed and transmitted via a Public
Information Statement by this evening.
