Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
340 PM MDT Sat Sep 23 2017

.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Sunday...An unseasonably cool and moist
airmass will remain in place across the forecast area as a deep
upper level low pressure trough slowly moves eastward across the
Great Basin. Tonight low clouds and periods of rain of the plains
may be accompanied by isolated thunderstorms. In the high country,
showery precipitation is expected to will more become widespread
with the snow level lowering to around 9000 feet by morning. Could
see a few inches of snow accumulate on the higher passes. On
Sunday, the showery precipitation will slowly shift east with the
upper level trough. The rain and snow should gradually decrease in
the high country by late in the day.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Sunday night through Thursday...An upper
level trough of low pressure will bring cool unsettled weather to
north central and northeastern through Monday. A drier westerly
flow aloft will bring a gradual warming trend and decreased
precipitation chances Tuesday and Wednesday. Another approaching
upper level storm system and associated cold front may bring
better chances for showers and thunderstorms on Thursday mainly
south of Interstate 70.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
