FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHEAST AND NORTH CENTRAL
COLORADO
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DENVER/BOULDER CO
314 AM MDT SUN OCT 19 2014

.DISCUSSION...TODAY AND TONIGHT...A WEAK SOUTH TO SOUTHWESTERLY FLOW
ALOFT WILL BE OVER COLORADO. SUBTROPICAL MOISTURE AHEAD OF AN UPPER
LEVEL LOW MOVING ALONG THE NORTHERN BORDER OF MEXICO WILL LINGER
OVER SOUTHERN COLORADO THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. TEMPERATURES
WILL REMAIN MILD TODAY WITH HIGHS RUNNING 6 TO 8 DEGREES ABOVE
NORMAL. AN ISOLATED SHOWER OR THUNDERSTORM WILL BE POSSIBLE THIS
AFTERNOON MAINLY IN THE MOUNTAINS SOUTHWEST OF DENVER...OTHERWISE IT
WILL BE DRY.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...EXCEPT FOR A SLIGHT
CHANCE FOR A SHOWER OR STORM OVER THE CENTRAL MOUNTAINS...DRY AND
MILD CONDITIONS WILL PREVAIL UNDER HIGH PRESSURE MONDAY. A PACIFIC
STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE INTO THE GREAT BASIN TUESDAY. A WARM
SOUTHERLY FLOW AHEAD OF IT ACROSS COLORADO. THIS WILL ALSO PRODUCE
BREEZY CONDITIONS OVER THE PLAINS. THIS STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE
ACROSS COLORADO TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY BRINGING COOLER
TEMPERATURES ALONG WITH A CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND PERHAPS A FEW
THUNDERSTORMS.

...THUNDERSTORMS IMPLY STRONG GUSTY ERRATIC WINDS...
...ALL SURFACE WINDS ARE 20-FOOT...10-MINUTE AVERAGED WINDS...
...CWR IS CHANCE OF WETTING RAIN - 0.10 INCH OR MORE LIQUID...
...24 HR TRENDS ARE BASED ON AVERAGES OVER THE RESPECTIVE ZONE
GROUPS AND MAY NOT MATCH THE ACTUAL FORECAST VALUES
                     SHOWN IN THOSE GROUPS...
