FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHEAST AND NORTH CENTRAL
COLORADO
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DENVER/BOULDER CO
425 AM MDT WED MAY 20 2015

.DISCUSSION...TODAY AND TONIGHT...EASTERLY WINDS AROUND A HIGH
PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER THE NORTHERN PLAINS WILL KEEP IT CLOUDY AND
COOL TODAY. THERE WILL BE ISOLATED TO SCATTERED SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN THIS AFTERNOON. SOME OF THE
SHOWERS WILL MOVE EAST ONTO THE PLAINS LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND
EVENING.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...THURSDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...A MOIST AND
UNSTABLE WEATHER PATTERN WILL CONTINUE TO PRODUCE SHOWERS AND LATE
DAY THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE REGION THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK. THE
BEST CHANCE FOR WETTING RAINFALL WILL COME THURSDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY
WITH THE PASSAGE OF TWO WEATHER SYSTEMS. MOUNTAIN AREAS ROUGHLY
ABOVE 9500 FEET COULD SEE MEASURABLE SNOW THURSDAY NIGHT.
TEMPERATURES WILL GRADUALLY WARM THROUGH THE PERIOD...ALTHOUGH
READINGS SHOULD REMAIN BELOW AVERAGE FOR THE DATE.

...THUNDERSTORMS IMPLY STRONG GUSTY ERRATIC WINDS...
...ALL SURFACE WINDS ARE 20-FOOT...10-MINUTE AVERAGED WINDS...
...CWR IS CHANCE OF WETTING RAIN - 0.10 INCH OR MORE LIQUID...
...24 HR TRENDS ARE BASED ON AVERAGES OVER THE RESPECTIVE ZONE
GROUPS AND MAY NOT MATCH THE ACTUAL FORECAST VALUES
                     SHOWN IN THOSE GROUPS...
