Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
341 AM MST Fri Feb 17 2017

.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...The combination of dry fuels
with increased wind on the plains by the afternoon will create for
near critical fire weather conditions today on the
plains...especially over Lincoln county. RH recovery will be
poor...especially along the foothills and southern counties.
Temperatures will cool behind the front bringing highs back into
the 60s but still above average this time of year.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Saturday through Tuesday...A deep storm system
in Southern California will push across Colorado late Sunday and
Sunday night. Ahead of this system, southerly winds will increase
but humidities will also slowly improve. The result will be for
elevated fire danger conditions over the plains both Saturday and
Sunday. Shower coverage is expected to increase Sunday afternoon
and night as the upper level trough moves across, but most of
these will be confined to the mountains.

Critical fire danger may develop Monday and Tuesday as humidities
drop, temperatures warm further, and winds increase as a flat ridge
builds over the state.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
