Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
304 PM MDT Sat Jul 22 2017

.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Sunday...A ridge of high pressure will
be over the Great Basin with a weak north to northwesterly flow aloft.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms will possible over the mountains
and adjacent plain through early evening with clearing overnight.
Warmer and drier on Sunday with isolated to scattered thunderstorms
in the afternoon in and near the higher terrain. Too much stability
will be over the northeast plains to support thunderstorms.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Sunday night through Thursday...
Warmer temperatures and lower humidities can be expected Monday
as a ridge of high pressure flattens over the region. By late
Tuesday and Wednesday, a warm southwesterly flow will develop over
the forecast area. This will bring a return of monsoonal moisture
and thus a better chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms, and
higher humidity levels. Above normal temperatures Monday and
Tuesday will return to near normal levels for Wednesday and
Thursday. Mainly light flow aloft will allow normal diurnal wind
patterns to prevail outside of thunderstorm activity.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
