Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
201 PM MDT Mon Sep 18 2017

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 8 PM MDT TUESDAY
for Fire Weather Zones 212>216, 238, 241, 246 and 247...

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY MORNING THROUGH
TUESDAY EVENING for Fire Weather Zones 239, 240, 242>245 and 248>251...

.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Tuesday...The flow aloft will increase
from the southwest as a system drops out of British Columbia and
into Northern Rockies by Tuesday afternoon. The fire danger will
increase on Tuesday due to above normal temperatures, increasing
wind and dry conditions. A Red Flag warning remains in effect from
1100 to 2000 mdt on Tuesday for Fire Weather Zones 212>216, 238,
241, 246 and 247. In addition, a Fire Weather Watch is in effect
for Fire Weather Zones 239, 240, 242>245 and 248>251.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Tuesday night through Saturday...Winds shift
to the north behind a cold front Tuesday evening. This
will bring cooler temperatures and higher relative humidity for
Wednesday. However, temperatures will remain above normal with dry
conditions Wednesday and Thursday. This combined with breezy winds
will likely elevate the fire danger. Weather pattern starts to
change Friday as an upper level low moves into the Great Basin. This
will bring cooler temperatures and increase moisture for Friday and
the weekend.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
