Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
318 PM MDT Wed Sep 20 2017

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 7 PM MDT THURSDAY FOR
GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE PALMER DIVIDE AND
PARTS OF THE EASTERN PLAINS...

.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Thursday...Southwest flow aloft will
bring very warm, dry, and breezy conditions to the area Thursday.
A Red Flag Warning is in effect Thursday afternoon for parts of
eastern Colorado.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Thursday night through Monday... An upper
level trough of low pressure will cover the western half of the
United States Thursday night with a moderate southwesterly flow
aloft over Colorado. this pattern will bring dry and warm weather
to north central and northeastern Colorado along with breezy
conditions to the mountains...Palmer Divide and portions of the
northeastern plains. The gusty winds combined with low relative
humidities will result in high fire danger across the Palmer
Divide and portions of the plains Thursday evening. Friday will be
a little cloudier and cooler with gusty south to southwesterly
winds...especially across Elbert...Lincoln and Washington
Counties. Despite the breezy conditions...the fire danger should
not be critical due to higher humidities and cooler temperatures.
Cooler unsettled weather is expected over the weekend into early
next week as the upper trough and associated cold fronts move
across the region.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
