119 FNUS55 KBOU 192023 FWFBOU Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO 223 PM MDT Sun May 19 2024 .DISCUSSION...Tonight and Monday...It will turn a little cooler with higher humidity in most areas for Monday. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will end this evening, but another round is expected again on Monday. Those will have a better chance of producing wetting rains, especially along and east of the Front Range. Westerly winds this evening will shift northerly behind a front that pushes across the plains overnight. Then east/southeast winds will increase tomorrow afternoon across the plains and Palmer Divide. LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Monday night through Friday... Scattered to numerous showers and storms are possible starting Monday afternoon through late Tuesday. This will lead to low fire weather concerns. Depending on fuels, elevated fire weather conditions could return as early as Thursday afternoon mainly for South Park, the Palmer Divide, and adjacent plains. Relative humidities drop between 15-18 percent and southwesterly winds could produce wind gusts up to 20-25 mph. Smoke dispersal conditions increase near good to excellent for parts of the high country Tuesday and Wednesday. ...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds... ...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds... ...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid... ...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone groups and may not match the actual forecast values shown in those groups...
