...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM MDT THIS EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...A strong storm will move from
the Four Corners area this morning into southeastern Colorado by
Friday morning. A dry line will likely set up with critical fire
weather conditions. The Red Flag warning has been expanded and now
includes fire weather zones 238 and 243 over portion of the plains and
into the southern foothills Thursday afternoon. As a result, a
Red Flag Warning has been issued for this afternoon for Fire Weather
Zones 216...238..239 through 242 and 243 through 251 due to gusty winds to 35
mph and very low relative humidities. Snow showers will increase in the
mountains and foothills this evening, with rain showers across the
northeast plains mixing with or changing to snow late tonight. High
winds and snow along and south of the palmer ridge late tonight.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Friday through Monday...A storm system will
affect the area on Friday bringing much needed precipitation to the
area along with colder temperatures. Saturday will be dry, however,
another weaker system will affect the area on Sunday bringing
another chance of precipitation. Monday will be dry and warmer
except for a chance of showers in the mountains.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
