Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
325 AM MDT Sat Jun 24 2017

.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...A moist and cool airmass will
remain over northeast Colorado today. A few thunderstorms will be
possible over the higher terrain east of the Continental Divide.
Gusty winds and light are expected with the storms. West of the
divide a warmer and drier airmass is in place where relative
humidities are expected to drop into the teens in the mountain
valleys.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Sunday through Wednesday...Upper level high
pressure will be centered over the Desert Southwest over the weekend
...with a moderate northwest flow aloft over Colorado. Weak upslope
flow at the surface will result in below temperatures east of the
mountains with isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms
possible mainly over the mountains...foothills...Palmer Divide and
Park County. Warmer and drier weather will return on Monday as the
upper level ridge of high pressure builds over the Rocky Mountain
Region. However...there may be enough residual moisture combined
with daytime heating to produce isolated afternoon and evening
showers and storms across the mountains and far northeast plains.
The upper level ridge will flatten on Tuesday with a more westerly
flow aloft. Downslope flow associated with this pattern will result
in hot and mostly dry weather with a only few afternoon and evening
showers and storms possible across the higher peaks and far
northeastern plains.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
