.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Tuesday...Critical fire weather
conditions expected for southern Lincoln County and far
southeastern Elbert County Tuesday. Min relative humidity dropping
to 8-12% combined with gusty winds up to 40 mph will support
this. The rest of the plains has potential for areas of elevated
conditions in the afternoon, including the southern Denver metro
and northern WY-CO border areas. A Red Flag Warning will be in
effect for southern Lincoln County/SE Elbert County Tuesday from
11 AM to 7 PM. Periods of snow expected in the mountains Tuesday.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Tuesday night through Saturday...Winds
will gradually decrease Tuesday night, but it could still be gusty
at times in/near the Front Range Foothills. Wednesday will be
breezy in most locations, along with dry conditions.
A weaker weather disturbance is then expected to slip southward
across the area by Thursday, bringing cooler temperatures, scattered
showers, higher humidity, but less wind. That pattern could stick
around into Friday or even as late as this weekend, but overall
temperatures are expected to slowly moderate through next weekend.
