SNOW WILL CONTINUE OVER THE HIGHER MOUNTAINS OF NORTHERN COLORADO
THIS MORNING...WITH AREAS OF LIGHT SNOW IN NORTH AND MIDDLE PARKS
AND ALONG US 285 IN PARK COUNTY. SNOWFALL RATES WILL BE A QUARTER
TO HALF INCH IN MOST AREAS...BUT UP TO AN INCH PER HOUR OVER THE
FRONT RANGE MOUNTAINS. WINDS WILL BE WEST TO NORTHWEST AT 20 TO 40
MPH...WITH GUSTS IN THE 60 TO 80 MPH RANGE ABOVE TIMBERLINE AND
ON THE EAST SLOPES OF THE FRONT RANGE...AND ALONG US 285 IN PARK
COUNTY. THERE WILL BE CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW IN
OPEN AREAS WITH NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS POSSIBLE IN THE WINDIER
LOCATIONS.

GUSTS OF 60 TO 80 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED IN WIND PRONE AREAS IN AND
NEAR THE FOOTHILLS. DRIVERS OF HIGH PROFILE OR LIGHT WEIGHT
VEHICLES MAY WISH TO CONSIDER AVOIDING NORTH-SOUTH ROADS IN AND
NEAR THE FOOTHILLS INCLUDING THE PEAK TO PEAK HIGHWAY...HIGHWAY
93 BETWEEN BOULDER AND GOLDEN...AND U.S. 36 FROM BROOMFIELD TO
BOULDER AND LYONS. BE ALERT FOR SUDDEN STRONG CROSSWIND GUSTS.
THERE WILL ALSO BE AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW IN THE HIGHER FOOTHILLS.
