VFR conditions are expected through the TAF period.
Southeast winds continue this morning through tonight.
Scattered showers are likely to develop in the southern foothills
west of all terminals but an isolated shower could spread into the
lower elevations this evening. Models continue to favor KBJC
versus KDEN/KAPA thus will keep a VCSH between 00-02Z. There is
lower confidence in this outcome for KAPA and KDEN.
Wind speeds increase this afternoon gusting between 20-27kts
and should remain elevated between 14-18kts overnight into Sunday
morning. Drainage winds are unlikely and should remain south.

COS and PUB...low VFR to MFVR (bkn030-060) across the terminals
through the early morning hours, as easterly upslope flow
develops behind last nights passing front. VFR conditions to
prevail through the late morning and the rest of the taf period,
with scattered showers developing and remaining over the higher
terrain this afternoon. Breezy east to southeast winds 15-20kts
expected at the terminals this afternoon.
VFR conditions expected at ALS over the next 24 hours, with
breezy south to southwest winds of 15-20kts expected in
the afternoon. Showers to develop over the higher terrain
through the afternoon, with too low a probability of showers
at the terminal to include attm.

terrain driven winds aside from a few gusts here and there. More
clouds and a spotty shower or two can`t be ruled out near KASE,
KGUC, and KTEX this afternoon and evening as a disturbance
passes by to the south and east. Quiet weather returns tonight,
though clouds and winds will start to increase towards daybreak
Sunday morning.

valid TAF period. Southerly winds are also forecast to be in
place through the period as well, gradually increasing this
afternoon and remaining southerly and gusty through Saturday
night, with gusts in the 30 to 40kt range possible. There is a
low, or 10 to 15 percent chance for nearby showers late this
afternoon and early evening.
.REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...VFR conditions are expected
across the area through the valid TAF period. Southerly winds
will gradually increase this afternoon and remain southerly and
gusty tonight. There is a low to medium (30-40 percent chance) for
LLWS conditions to develop overhead steeper walled valleys
overnight, as winds at the 2kft AGL level will increase into the
30-45kt range after 06Z tonight. Can`t rule out isolated shower
development over northern Utah terrain late this afternoon and
early evening, otherwise widespread shower development will begin
around the end of the period across northwest Utah. Patchy blowing
dust may limit surface visibility over portions of SW Utah late
this afternoon through tonight.

Skies have cleared overnight, with mostly clear skies expected
through the remainder of the morning. Patchy fog is looking
less likely, with KCPR and KRIW only now having VCFG through
15Z.
The prevailing wind will remain light and variable at most terminals
before gradually becoming southerly by Saturday afternoon. High
clouds (SCT200) will pass overhead Saturday afternoon, with
increasing cloud cover heading into Saturday evening. All terminals
will have prevailing VFR conditions through the TAF period. Winds
begin to increase at the end of the TAF period, with KRKS currently
being the only terminal to see winds increase before 12Z Sunday.

The last of the rain cleared LBL and DDC terminals just prior to
the onset of this TAF period, but remaining low stratus cloud
will keep flight category MVFR with 1000 to 2500 foot BKN-OVC.
The stratus will slowly erode by late morning, with all
terminals expected to be VFR by no later than midday. North wind
will gradually decrease in speed down to around 10 knots by late
afternoon.

MVFR to IFR ceilings are forecast through approximately 18z for
all sites. VFR conditions should return afterwards til later in
the TAF period when precipitation chances return (mainly for KAMA)
and low clouds move back in. Have included a PROB30 group for
thunderstorm chances at KAMA. When the low clouds move back in,
MVFR to IFR conditions are expected. Winds will begin out of the
north but will eventually become easterly with gusts of 20 to 25
kts. Winds will gradually decrease over the next 24 hours down to
around 10 kts.

A backdoor cold front will continue to push through gaps in the
central mountain chain with a strong east canyon wind in the
central valleys from Santa Fe southward this morning. Gusts up to
35 KT will be possible at KSAF and Carrizozo, and around 40 KT at
KABQ. Meanwhile, areas of low clouds producing MVFR and IFR
conditions east of the central mountain chain will continue
through much of the morning before dissipating. The gusty east
canyon winds will weaken some while persisting through the
afternoon. The east winds are forecast to strengthen again this
evening. This afternoon and evening, scattered to isolated showers
and thunderstorms are forecast over northern, central and and
eastern parts of the forecast area. Some storms are likely to
produce large hail, damaging winds, and perhaps an isolated
tornado over southeast areas. Meanwhile, some cells over the
continental divide region and Albuquerque Saturday afternoon and
early evening will be capable of producing dry microbursts with
localized and erratic wind gusts up to 45 KT. Tonight, low clouds
with MVFR and IFR conditions look to become widespread east of
the central mountain chain, where showers and some thunderstorms
may linger. The east canyon wind will probably also blow these low
clouds into KSAF during the late night hours.
