OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES FORECAST
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DENVER/BOULDER CO
710 PM MST THU FEB 26 2015

THE CENTER OF THE COUNTRY INCLUDING EASTERN COLORADO WILL REMAIN
UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF AN ABNORMALLY COLD ARCTIC AIRMASS THROUGH AT
LEAST FRIDAY. AN UPPER LEVEL WEATHER DISTURBANCE CARRIED ALONG BY
NORTHWEST FLOW ALOFT WILL COMBINE WITH A MOIST UPSLOPE FLOW ON THE
PLAINS TO PRODUCE AREAS OF LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOWFALL IN AND ALONG
THE FRONT RANGE MOUNTAINS OF EASTERN COLORADO TONIGHT THROUGH EARLY
FRIDAY MORNING. THE CHANCE FOR SNOWFALL IN THE MOUNTAINS AND ON THE
PLAINS WILL DECREASE ON FRIDAY AS DRIER AIR SPREADS IN FROM THE
NORTHWEST. MEANWHILE ANOTHER STORM SYSTEM ORGANIZING OVER THE
PACIFIC NORTHWEST ON FRIDAY WILL TRACK SOUTH ALONG THE WEST COAST.
AS THIS OCCURS...SOUTHWESTERLY FLOW AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM WILL SPREAD
MOIST AND UNSTABLE AIR UP OVER COLORADO. THIS DEVELOPING FLOW
PATTERN COULD RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL FOR THE MOUNTAIN RANGES
OF SOUTHWEST COLORADO. THE REMAINING MOUNTAIN AND VALLEY AREAS OF
NORTHERN AND CENTRAL COLORADO MAY ALSO SEE SNOWFALL OVER THE
WEEKEND.
