...MARCH 2017...3RD WARMEST MARCH IN DENVER WEATHER HISTORY...

UPPER LEVEL HIGH PRESSURE COMBINED WITH DOWNSLOPE FLOW BROUGHT
WARM, WINDY AND DRY WEATHER TO DENVER DURING THE FIRST THREE WEEKS
OF THE MARCH. DENVER EXPERIENCED A VERY WARM STRETCH FROM THE 15TH
THROUGH THE 23RD WITH TEMPERATURES AT OR ABOVE 70 DEGREES EACH DAY
THROUGH THAT PERIOD. THE HIGH TEMPERATURE REACHED 81 AND 80 DEGREES
ON THE 18TH AND 19TH, RESPECTIVELY. THESE TEMPERATURES WERE JUST SHY
OF THE DAILY RECORD HIGH READINGS FOR THOSE DATES. A PATTERN CHANGE
OCCURRED THE FINAL WEEK OF THE MONTH WITH A SERIES OF UPPER LEVEL
STORM SYSTEMS MOVING ACROSS COLORADO. THIS PATTERN RESULTED IN MORE
NORMAL WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR IN DENVER. THE LAST
WEEK OF MARCH WAS COOLER AND WETTER ACROSS THE REGION.

TEMPERATURES:

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE AT DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FOR THE
MONTH WAS 47.9 DEGREES F, WHICH IS 7.5 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THIS
MAKES MARCH OF 2017 THE 3RD WARMEST MARCH IN DENVER WEATHER HISTORY.
THE WARMEST MARCH ON RECORD OCCURRED IN 1910 WITH AN AVERAGE MONTHLY
TEMPERATURE OF 50.4 DEGREES F. THE COLDEST MARCH ON RECORD WAS IN 1912
WITH AN AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE OF 26.4 DEGREES F. ON THE 18TH, THE
