UPPER LEVEL HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE CENTRAL AND EASTERN UNITED
STATES...COMBINED WITH A SOUTHWESTERLY FLOW ALOFT OVER COLORADO...
PRODUCED WARM AND DRY WEATHER ACROSS NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEASTERN
COLORADO THE FIRST FEW DAYS OF THE MONTH. FROM THE 1ST THROUGH THE
3RD...TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE FRONT RANGE URBAN CORRIDOR REACHED
INTO THE 70S. COLDER AND WETTER WEATHER MOVED INTO THE REGION ON THE
4TH... AS AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE AND ASSOCIATED COLD
FRONT MOVED INTO THE STATE. DENVER EXPERIENCED ITS FIRST SNOWFALL OF
THE SEASON ON THE 5TH...WITH 1.0 INCHES MEASURED AT DENVER
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. AN ACTIVE WEATHER PATTERN CONTINUED THROUGH
THE REMAINDER OF THE MONTH WITH STORM SYSTEMS MOVING ACROSS
NORTHEASTERN COLORADO EVERY THREE TO SIX DAYS. ONE OF THESE STORM
SYSTEMS MOVED INTO COLORADO LATE IN THE MONTH...BRINGING SNOW AND
MUCH COLDER TEMPERATURES TO DENVER DURING THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY.
THE ARCTIC AIRMASS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SYSTEM RESULTED IN THE
COLDEST TEMPERATURES SO FAR THIS SEASON...WITH TEMPERATURES
REMAINING BELOW FREEZING FROM THE AFTERNOON OF THE 25TH THROUGH THE
30TH.

TEMPERATURES:

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE AT DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FOR THE
MONTH OF NOVEMBER WAS 38.5 DEGREES F WHICH WAS 0.2 DEGREES ABOVE
NORMAL. NOVEMBER 1949 WAS THE WARMEST ON RECORD AT 50.9 DEGREES F.
THE COLDEST NOVEMBER ON RECORD WAS 22.0 DEGREES F WAY BACK IN 1880.
THAT WAS THE YEAR THE DENVER AND RIO GRANDE RAILROAD REACHED
