Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
304 PM MST Sun Feb 19 2017

.Discussion...

The mountains will see showers this evening, with the best
chance along the Continental Divide, where several inches
of snow is expected. Only isolated showers or sprinkles are
forecast for lower elevations this evening. Precipitation
then ends by late tonight with dry weather expected Monday
and Tuesday. The far eastern plains near the Kansas border
may see near critical fire weather conditions Monday as winds
remain gusty, with near critical conditions then shifting
back to the Interstate 25 corridor on Tuesday. High fire
danger will then cover most of the eastern mountains and
plains on Wednesday as west winds increase. Showers will
develop along the Continental Divide on Wednesday, then
spread to the remainder of the area on Thursday.
Temperatures will remain well above average through
Wednesday afternoon, before cooling to below seasonal
normals by the end of the week.

Afternoon smoke dispersion on Monday will be good or better
over the eastern mountains and plains, with fair to good
values over interior valleys and near the Continental Divide.
On Tuesday, most locations will reach the good or better
range by afternoon, with a small pocket of fair to poor
values over the San Luis Valley.
