Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
744 PM MST Tue Nov 14 2017

.Discussion...

Breezy winds will continue through this evening across the mountains
and plains as a dry cold front moves across the district through
the evening. Temperatures will be cooler for Wednesday, especially across
the eastern half of the district. Mountains will see only a slight cool
down with breezy afternoon winds returning to the high country.

Winds will be quite strong for Thursday and especially Friday with the
potential for critical fire weather conditions for the I-25 corridor and
portions of the adjacent plains both days. Of the two days, Thursday looks
like the higher risk day. A system will move across Colorado on
Friday producing several inches of snow to mountains along the Continental
Divide through Friday night.

The weather will be cooler and drier for Saturday, then gradually warmer
for Sunday and Monday with another system bringing the potential for some
light snow to the mountains on Tuesday.

Cooler temperatures on Wednesday will limit afternoon smoke dispersions
to the Poor to Fair category for the plains, while most of the mountains
rise back into the Good category. Increasing winds on Thursday will
lead to Very Good to Excellent dispersions across most of the district.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
