Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
352 AM MDT Tue Mar 26 2024

.Discussion...

Isolated to scattered convective showers are expected to develop
today, and while they will have a chance to produce lightning, the
greatest threats will be gusty outflow winds. Dry coditions are
expected Wednesday through Saturday for most of the district, with a
chance for isolated showers along the mountains. More widespread
precipitation returns to the district starting Sunday and Monday,
with the greatest chances for precipitation along the mountains.

Critical fire weather concerns start to increase later in the week
as southwesterly winds start to surge, and dry air pushes into the
area. Near to spotty critical fire weather conditions are expected
Thursday and Friday, mostly in the gap flow areas and for parts of
the plains. Critical fire weather conditions start to expand in
coverage Saturday and Sunday, with Sunday looking to bring the most
widespread critical fire weather conditions across the plains.
Critical fire weather concerns may extend into Monday, but cold
frontal passage and possible increase in moisture lowers confidence
at this time.

Smoke dispersion rates today and tomorrow will be Fair to Very Good
for much of the district, with isolated pockets of Poor rates.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
