Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
747 PM MDT Thu Jul 20 2017

.Discussion...

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will continue through this
evening across the mountains and adjacent plains with locally heavy
rainfall the primary storm threat. Thunderstorm chances will
gradually increases again for the mountains on Friday, then for the
plains Friday night through Sunday as a front moves through the
region and brings increasing moisture and upslope flow. Locally
heavy rain with localized flash flooding will be possible district
wide during this period. Temperatures will cool off substantially
by Sunday with readings below normal.

Drier air moves in for Monday then the monsoon plume returns again
for next week with more isolated thunderstorm activity over the
mountains increasing again to scattered to numerous by mid week with
the potential for locally heavy rain continuing.

Afternoon smoke dispersion will rise into the good or better
category both Friday and Saturday with the highest afternoon
dispersion across the plains where winds will be slightly stronger.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
