Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
406 AM MST Sat Dec 16 2017

.Discussion...

A cold front will move through the plains this afternoon bringing
some breezy north winds and slowing cooling temperatures.
Otherwise it will be dry and mild with invading high cloudiness.
Some patchy freezing drizzle and fog will be possible across the
Palmer Divide and Kiowa county late tonight through Sunday morning.
Sunday will be cooler behind the departing system.

Dry and warmer weather will return for the early to middle part of
next week. The next storm system will spread snow into the mountains
Wednesday night and the potential for snow across the plains on
Thursday. Much cooler weather is expected to persist into next weekend
with northerly flow keeping day time highs in the 30s each day.

Light winds will keep dispersions poor for all areas today except
for the plains where winds behind the cold front may bump smoke
dispersion rates into the Fair category for a few hours. Smoke
dispersions improve over the mountains on Sunday but stay in the poor
category across the plains.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
