WEATHER SUMMARY FOR NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA

SKIES THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS WERE MOSTLY SUNNY ACROSS THE
NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA REGION. AFTER OVERNIGHT LOWS
THAT DIPPED INTO THE -6 TO 10 ABOVE ZERO RANGE...TEMPERATURES HAD
RECOVERED ONLY INTO THE TEENS BY LATE MORNING.

ARCTIC HIGH PRESSURE WILL MOVE OVER THE REGION THIS AFTERNOON
KEEPING THE TEMPERATURES WELL BELOW NORMAL. HIGHS THIS AFTERNOON
ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN THE TEENS. THIS WILL SET THE STAGE FOR THE
POSSIBILITY FOR ANOTHER ROUND OF SUBZERO LOWS IN MANY AREAS TONIGHT.
AS THE HIGH PUSHES OFF TO OUR EAST FRIDAY...SOUTHERLY WINDS ON ITS
BACKSIDE WILL BRING WARMER AIR INTO THE REGION THAT WILL CONTINUE
THROUGH THE WEEKEND. THUS TEMPERATURES WILL GET BACK TO SEASONAL
LEVELS...WHICH ARE IN THE UPPER 30S TO LOWER 40S...BY SUNDAY AND
CONTINUE TO CLIMB INTO THE NEW WORK WEEK. MAINLY DRY CONDITIONS WILL
CONTINUE THE NEXT FEW DAYS.
