Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Northern Vermont and
Northern New York
National Weather Service Burlington VT
Issued by National Weather Service ALBANY NY
440 AM EDT Tue Sep 26 2017

.DISCUSSION...
A large area of high pressure at the surface and aloft will
persist over the region into Wednesday. Dry weather is
expected until Wednesday afternoon. Above normal temperatures are
expected right through Wednesday with more record highs expected
to be set. Dew points will be well into the 60s...which will result
in afternoon relative humidities in the 40 to 55 percent range with
good humidity recoveries at night. Winds will generally be under 10
miles per hour through midweek as well. An upper level trough of
low pressure and a cold front will move into the region late Wednesday
through Thursday morning. This system will increase precipitation
chances and return temperatures to seasonal normals. This will be the first
chance in about two weeks where measure precipitation is expected.
The rainfall is expected to be light with generally under a tenth of an
inch with isolated higher amounts if any isolated thunderstorms occur.
High pressure briefly builds back in on Thursday with much cooler weather.
