FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL/NORTHERN VERMONT AND
NORTHERN NEW YORK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BURLINGTON VT
400 AM EDT SUN OCT 19 2014

...BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES TODAY WITH LINGERING SHOWERS...

.DISCUSSION...
A NORTHWESTERLY FLOW OF AIR FROM CANADA WILL RESULT IN BELOW
NORMAL TEMPERATURES TODAY...5 TO 10 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL...AND
THIS WILL HELP KEEP AFTERNOON RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES ABOVE
CRITICAL LEVELS. THERE WILL STILL BE SOME LINGERING VALLEY RAIN
SHOWERS AND MOUNTAIN SNOW SHOWERS OVER THE AREA TODAY. DRY WEATHER
DOES MOVE IN FOR TONIGHT AND MONDAY...BUT BELOW NORMAL
TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE TO KEEP AFTERNOON RELATIVE HUMIDITY
VALUES ABOVE CRITICAL LEVELS. A NOTICEABLY CHANGE IN THE WEATHER
BEGINS TO TAKE PLACE ON TUESDAY AS AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH OF LOW
PRESSURE WANTS TO CUT OFF JUST TO OUR SOUTH. THIS WILL RESULT IN
AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF PRECIPITATION FOR OUR AREA WITH RAIN
EXPECTED FOR MUCH OF THE TUESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY TIME
PERIOD...WHICH COULD RESULT IN HEAVY RAINFALL. THIS PATTERN WILL
ALSO KEEP HIGH HUMIDITY VALUES OVER THE AREA.
