...STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH LOCALIZED HEAVY RAINFALL
EXPECTED TODAY INTO TONIGHT...

A SLOW-MOVING COLD FRONT WILL PRODUCE SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS
THUNDERSTORMS BY EARLY AFTERNOON IN THE NORTHERN ADIRONDACKS OF
NEW YORK. STORMS WILL BECOME STRONG TO SEVERE AS THEY ADVANCE
EASTWARD OFF OF THE ADIRONDACKS AND INTO VERMONT.

STORMS WILL BEGIN TO DEVELOP IN THE NORTHERN ADIRONDACKS BETWEEN
NOON AND 2 PM...THE CHAMPLAIN VALLEY BETWEEN 2 AND 4 PM...INTERIOR
CENTRAL VERMONT AND THE GREEN MOUNTAINS BETWEEN 5 AND 8 PM...AND
AFTER 8 PM FOR EASTERN VERMONT. WHILE THE THUNDERSTORM THREAT
SHOULD END BY SUNSET FROM THE CHAMPLAIN VALLEY WESTWARD...SHOWERS
AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE WELL INTO THE EVENING
FOR CENTRAL AND EASTERN VERMONT.

THE PRIMARY THUNDERSTORM HAZARDS ARE GUSTY TO DAMAGING WINDS
CAPABLE OF DOWNING TREES AND POWER LINES...AS WELL AS HIGH
RAINFALL RATES LEADING TO LOCALIZED HEAVY RAINFALL. ISOLATED FLASH
FLOODING IS POSSIBLE IN THE MOST PERSISTENT STORMS THAT MOVE OVER
THE SAME LOCATION. REMEMBER THAT ALL THUNDERSTORMS ARE CAPABLE OF
DEADLY CLOUD-TO-GROUND LIGHTNING.

PLEASE MONITOR THE WEATHER SITUATION CLOSELY TODAY AND BE
PREPARED TO TAKE THE NECESSARY ACTIONS IF THREATENING WEATHER
APPROACHES. STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO OR LOCAL MEDIA
OUTLETS FOR THE LATEST ON THIS DEVELOPING WEATHER SITUATION.
