Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
341 AM EDT Wed May 8 2024

.DISCUSSION...
A cold front across the mid Mississippi River Valley region today
will continue to slowly push eastward through Friday. Ahead of
this front, several waves of strong to potentially severe storms
are expected to form across the southeastern U.S, with some activity
moving through the forecast area through Friday. For today, best
chance for activity will be over the northern Midlands and Pee Dee.
Rainfall and convective chance spread across the entire region for
Thursday and Thursday night, with the potential for several waves
of activity to move through the forecast area. Lingering activity
still possible Friday morning just ahead of the cold front, then
drier conditions begin moving in Friday night through the weekend.

Fog potential: Patchy fog in river valleys.
