Mild and moist air covering the entire Commonwealth ahead of a
slow moving cold front will be accompanied by scattered to
numerous rain showers across primarily the Northwestern half of
the state today. Temperatures will start the day in the 50s.

The late morning and afternoon hours today will feature
considerable cloudiness, with scattered showers and maybe even
a few isolated thunderstorms after 2 pm.

High temperatures today will vary from the low to mid 60s across
the higher terrain of Northern and Western PA, to the low 70s in
the Southern Valleys. Highs may hold in the mid to upper 50s along
the Lake Erie Shoreline. Lows tonight between 55 and 60 will be
very mild for the second week of April.

Periods of rain, some briefly heavy, will return for Thursday
into Thursday night, with some minor flooding of poor drainage
areas and even a few small streams.

There will be a chance of strong to severe thunderstorms reaching
the Western Mountains of the state later in the day and Thursday
evening, along and just ahead of a strong cold front.
