The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Alenuihaha Channel...

* Until 730 AM HST.

* At 526 AM HST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing
  waterspouts was located 12 nm southeast of FAD Buoy JJ, or 19 nm
  southeast of Honokanaia, moving north at 15 knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts 34 knots or greater, and small
           hail.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly
           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  FAD Buoy HS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Prepare for gusty winds, steep and fast-building seas, and blinding
downpours. Stay low or go below, and make sure all on board are
wearing life jackets.
