.SHORT TERM...
(This evening through Thursday night)
Issued at 334 PM CDT Wed Apr 10 2024
After a very active day things are beginning to calm down finally
with storms mainly impacting portions of coastal MS and coastal
SELA. The severe threat is just about done but there is still
additional rainfall that could occur over some areas that have
received quite a bit of rain already. We should finally dry out
later tonight after a cold front finally pushes through the area
and the trough axis moves across the Lower MS Valley. After the
front moves through dewpoints will fall and should be back down
into the 40s by tomorrow night. Not only will the LL dry out but
after northwest takes over the whole column will dry out and pws
will fall to below 0.4". This will lead to very pleasant
conditions tomorrow and Friday which will help with any clean up
that is occurring across the region. /CAB/

.LONG TERM...
(Friday through Tuesday night)
Issued at 334 PM CDT Wed Apr 10 2024
Heading into the weekend things will remain quiet with temps
beginning to moderate however, moisture will struggle to return
through the weekend. Northwest flow will remain over the area as
a ridge slowly builds over the western Gulf and southern Plains.
Moisture will finally start to increase slowly late Sunday and
Sunday night. The sfc high will slide off to the east and allow
for return flow to finally kick in. Even with the slow return of
moisture we will remain dry as the ridge still dominates aloft. LL
temps will respond and could lead to highs in the mid to upper 80s
by early next week however rain will remain out of the area
through much of next week. /CAB/

.AVIATION...
(18Z TAFS)
Issued at 1231 PM CDT Wed Apr 10 2024
The most vigorous line segment has moved east of the area,
however rain with scattered storms will linger through much of the
afternoon which will create however vis. Ceilings will also
continue to bounce around from VFR to IFR this afternoon, before
prevailing IFR stratus moves in tonight. Winds have or will become
light behind the line as well, however west winds will increase
later in the afternoon through tonight as high pressure begins to
build in.

.MARINE...
Issued at 334 PM CDT Wed Apr 10 2024
Sfc low still moving through the Lower MS Valley and should
finally pull away overnight tonight with an associated cold front
moving through overnight as well. Strong southerly winds over the
open waters will likely continue through the night and after the
front moves through winds will veer around to the northwest. Winds
will still be quite strong but the Gales should hopefully be able
to be dropped by tomorrow morning with mainly strong SCY
conditions through tomorrow. After that high pressure builds in
and much quieter conditions will develop over the coastal waters
through the weekend and into next week. /CAB/
