Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
155 PM CDT Sun Apr 21 2024

.DISCUSSION...
A cold front has moved south into the Gulf of Mexico. Dewpoints
have been steadily dropping and will continue to do so through
Monday until coming back up. Elevated northerly winds have
developed behind this front. Weakening pressure gradient will
allow the stronger winds today to drop to around 10 knots or
less tonight into Monday. High pressure will move east of the area
Monday night, and winds will shift to the northeast and then to
the southeast by Tuesday. Humidity levels will drop quite a bit on
Monday, with min RH`s falling into the mid 20s to lower 30s.
Humidity will start to quickly see a rise in moisture as winds
shift around to onshore on Tuesday. No more rain during the
duration of the forecast period.
