...WARM TEMPERATURES INTO MID WEEK THEN SOME COOLING FOR
THE WEEKEND...
...ISOLATED TO SCATTERED SHOWERS AND ISOLATED T-STORMS POSSIBLE
MAINLY OVER CENTRAL AND SRN SIERRA AND INTO NV WITH THE BEST CHANCES
IN THE AFTERNOONS/EVENINGS TODAY AND TUESDAY AND SATURDAY...

.METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS (MON AM - SUN AM)...

Shortwave trough moving through WA/OR and headed east into Idaho
today with another wave dropping in the Pac NW tonight and a weak
low offshore of the Central/Srn Ca coast and ridge of high pressure
over the north eastern Pacific. This will bring Scattered showers
and isolated thunderstorms mainly along the Central/Srn Sierra and
over into NE NV. The pattern shifts to the east Tuesday with high
pressure nosing into Nrn and Central CA and the weak low gets closer
to the Srn CA coast. This will bring isolated to scattered showers
and isolated thunderstorms mainly along the Central/Srn Sierra and
east into Central/Srn NV. High pressure moves into most of the
region on Wednesday as the weak low moves onshore over Nrn Baja.
High pressure over the Eastern Pacific and into the region on
Thursday with another low around 136W 30N. Mainly dry conditions
expected on Wednesday and Thursday but there is a slight chance of
showers/tstorms over the Srn Sierra Wednesday afternoon/evening.
Ridge weakens on Friday as a shortwave trough moves into the Pac NW
and low around 30N approaches 130W. Trough over NW US and low
offshore of the Srn CA coast on Saturday. Although the details are
still uncertain with various solutions of the strength and tracks
and timing of the trough/lows but at least temps should be a little
cooler next weekend. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible
along the Sierra an into NV on Saturday. Freezing levels generally
10000-14000 ft.

Max temperatures generally above normal up to 15 degrees over most
of the region this afternoon except near normal to 10 degrees below
normal along the CA coast. Temps warm up a little over Srn OR and
into Central CA on Tuesday as high pressure builds in from the
Eastern Pacific but about the same to a little cooler over Srn CA
and most of NV with shortwave trough over Idaho and low offshore of
Srn CA. Max temps rise to 5 to 20 degrees above normal on Wednesday
except remain near to around 10 degrees below normal over the
Central and Srn CA coast and generally a little warmer over most of
the region on Thursday. Cooler temperatures over Srn OR and Nrn CA
on Friday with max temps near normal to around 15 degrees above
normal. More widespread cooling expected over the weekend with max
temps near normal to 10 degrees above normal except near normal to
15 degrees below normal along the coast. Overnight temps generally
near normal to around 15 degrees above normal tonight into Saturday
night.
