...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM CDT THIS
AFTERNOON FOR CENTRAL CHRISTIAN AND NORTHERN STONE COUNTIES...
At 319 PM CDT, Local law enforcement reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches
of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. Received reports from law
enforcement regarding a flooded low water crossing near
Clever.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Southern Springfield, Nixa, Ozark, Highlandville, Clever, Crane,
Billings, Fremont Hills, Hurley, Spokane, Boaz, Ponce de Leon,
Selmore, Chestnutridge, Christian Center, Elsey and Linden.
This includes the following low water crossings...
Bull Creek at Center Road, Parchcorn Creek at Smyrna Road, Dry
Crane Creek at Jasmine Road, Green Valley Creek at Holder RD,
Little Crane Creek at Old Wire Road, Woods Fork at Woods Fork Road
and Wilson`s Creek at Old Limey Road.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
