At 442 AM, National Weather Service radar detected a large area of
showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy rain generally in
southeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. They were most widespread
and heaviest in Franklin, Crawford and Sebastian counties in
Arkansas. The precipitation was in the Fort Smith area. Movement was
to the east at around 15 mph. The average amount where it rained
last hour was around one quarter of an inch with maximum amounts of
an inch to an inch and a half. Coverage and intensity decreased
during the last hour. The Tulsa area forecast for late tonight and
early this morning, mostly cloudy, a slight chance of showers and
thunderstorms with temperatures 62 to 64 degrees and northeast winds
up to 10 mph.
