...ELEVATED SURF AND STRONG RIP CURRENTS THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON...

.A MIXED LONG PERIOD SWELL FROM THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE AND WEST-
NORTHWEST SWELL WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE THROUGH THE COASTAL WATERS.
BEACHGOERS SHOULD EXPECT ELEVATED SURF AND FREQUENT STRONG RIP
CURRENTS AND LOCAL LONG-SHORE CURRENTS AS WELL. THERE WILL BE
LONG LULLS BETWEEN THE LARGER WAVES. BEACHGOERS SHOULD AVOID
WALKING ON ROCKS OR JETTIES NEAR THE WATERS EDGE AND NEVER TURN
THEIR BACK ON THE OCEAN.

* HAZARDS AND TIMING...SURF WILL RANGE FROM 3 TO 5 FEET.
  FREQUENT STRONG RIP CURRENTS AND STRONG LONG-SHORE CURRENTS
  ARE LIKELY.

* TIDES...THE LOWER HIGH TIDE IS EXPECTED TO OCCUR IN THE
  EVENING WITH THE HIGHER HIGH TIDE OCCURRING IN THE EARLY
  MORNING.

* IMPACTS...ELEVATED SURF WILL BRING STRONG RIP CURRENTS AND
  LONG- SHORE CURRENTS TO AREA BEACHES ALONG WITH A RISK OF
  SNEAKER WAVES. LONG PERIOD SWELL ALSO CAUSES MORE POWERFUL
  SURF AND A POTENTIAL FOR MINOR BEACH EROSION DURING TIMES OF
  HIGH TIDE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IS ISSUED WHEN THREATS TO BEACH AND
SURF ZONE SAFETY ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. CAUTION SHOULD BE
USED WHEN IN OR NEAR THE WATER. STAY NEAR OCCUPIED LIFEGUARD
TOWERS AND NEVER SWIM ALONE. IF CAUGHT IN A RIP CURRENT... SWIM
PARALLEL TO THE SHORE.

  RIP CURRENTS AND STRONG LONG-SHORE CURRENTS ARE LIKELY.

* TIDES...THE LOWER HIGH TIDE IS EXPECTED TO OCCUR IN THE
  EVENING WITH THE HIGHER HIGH TIDE OCCURRING IN THE EARLY
  MORNING.
