...OCTOBER 2017...SLIGHTLY DRIER AND COOLER THAN NORMAL...

OCTOBER WAS A MONTH WITH NUMEROUS LARGE TEMPERATURE SWINGS WITH MOST
SWINGS STARTING WITH WARM AND DRY WEATHER AND ENDING WITH COLD AND
WET WEATHER. THE MOST NOTEWORTHY TEMPERATURE SWING OCCURRED FROM THE
24TH THROUGH THE 26TH AS TEMPERATURES DROPPED 71 DEGREES IN LESS
THAN 48 HOURS. THE WARMTH ON THE 24TH SET A RECORD HIGH OF 84
DEGREES AND WAS THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE OF THE MONTH. THE COLD
TEMPERATURES ON THE 26TH ENDED UP BEING THE COLDEST TEMPERATURE OF
THE MONTH AT 13 DEGREES. THE MONTH BEGAN WETTER THAN NORMAL WITH
0.38 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION FALLING BETWEEN THE 1ST AND 2ND WHILE
0.56 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION FELL BETWEEN THE 8TH AND 9TH. THE
SYSTEM ON THE 8TH AND 9TH PRODUCED THE FIRST MEASURABLE SNOWFALL OF
THE SEASON IN DENVER AS 2.8 INCHES FELL. AFTER THE 9TH, CONDITIONS
DRIED OUT AS DENVER ONLY RECEIVED 0.02 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION
INCLUDING A TRACE OF SNOW FOR THE REST OF THE MONTH. IN THE END, THE
TEMPERATURE SWINGS AND PERIODS OF WET AND DRY WEATHER EVENED
THEMSELVES OUT SUCH THAT OCTOBER WAS 0.8 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL FOR
THE MONTH AND 0.06 INCHES DRIER THAN AVERAGE.

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE AT DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FOR THE

TEMPERATURE OF 59.9 DEGREES F. THE COLDEST OCTOBER ON RECORD WAS
38.9 DEGREES BACK IN 1969. ON THE 25TH...THE TEMPERATURE CLIMBED TO
84 DEGREES F WHICH IS THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE RECORDED DURING THE
