Coastal Waters Forecast for the Florida Keys

Florida Bay...Hawk Channel and Straits of Florida from Ocean Reef to
south of Dry Tortugas...and the extreme southeastern Gulf of
Mexico...including The Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary

Seas are given as significant wave height...which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for Keys coastal waters from Ocean Reef to Dry Tortugas
1030 PM EDT Mon Aug 21 2017

.SYNOPSIS...A western Atlantic ridge north of our region will
quickly fracture tonight and especially into the middle of this
week. Meanwhile, a weak tropical wave will migrate westward and
approach our area Tuesday. This trough will linger over the
southern Florida peninsula and the adjacent Atlantic and Gulf
waters for at least a couple of days.

The Approximate Shoreward Edge of the Gulf Stream as of
August 19th, 2017,

 2 NM South of Dry Tortugas Light...on Loggerhead Key.
 5 NM South of Cosgrove Shoal Light...off the Marquesas Keys.
 6 NM South of Sand Key Light...off Key West.
11 NM South of Looe Key...off Big Pine Key.
11 NM South of Sombrero Key Light...off Marathon.
11 NM Southeast of Alligator Reef Light...off Islamorada.
 9 NM Southeast of Molasses Reef Light...off Key Largo.
 5 NM East of Carysfort Reef Light...off Ocean Reef.
