...INCREASE IN FLOWS ALONG THE ANIMAS AND PINE RIVERS...

RECENT WARMER TEMPERATURES HAS ENHANCED SNOWMELT FROM THE HIGH
ELEVATIONS OF THE SAN JUAN MOUNTAINS IN COLORADO. THE COMBINATION
OF SNOWMELT AND RECENT HEAVY RAIN OVER THE AREA HAS RESULTED IN
HIGHER FLOWS ALONG RIVERS AND STREAMS IN THE SAN JUAN RIVER BASIN.
FLOWS ON THE ANIMAS RIVER FROM CEDAR HILL SOUTHWARD TO FARMINGTON
ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE TO NEAR BANKFULL TODAY THROUGH FRIDAY.
FLOWS ALONG THE PINE RIVER LEADING INTO NAVAJO RESERVOIR WILL BE
RUNNING HIGH AS WELL THROUGH FRIDAY. A FEW LOW LYING AREAS ALONG
THE RIVERS MAY BECOME INUNDATED. CAUTION IS ADVISED WHEN WALKING
OR RECREATING NEAR RIVERS AND STREAMS AS WATER WILL BE COLD AND
RUNNING FAST. RIVERBANKS COULD BECOME UNSTABLE.
