THE SOUTHEASTERN MOUNTAINS...INTERSTATE 25 CORRIDOR AND PORTIONS
OF THE SOUTHEASTERN COLORADO PLAINS...

.A VERY MOIST ATMOSPHERE IS PROJECTED TO REMAIN IN PLACE OVER THE
MAJORITY OF SOUTHERN COLORADO INTO THIS EVENING. UPSLOPE FLOW IN
COMBINATION WITH ABUNDANT ATMOSPHERIC MOISTURE WILL ALLOW SHOWERS
AND THUNDERSTORMS TO DEVELOP OVER SOUTHERN COLORADO TODAY...
ESPECIALLY DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS.

THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR A PORTION OF SOUTHEAST COLORADO HAS
BEEN CANCELLED. EXPECT ISOLATED TO SCATTERED SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS INTO THE EVENING. THE ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS ARE NOT
CONDUCIVE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WHICH WILL
PRODUCE HEAVY RAINFALL. AS A RESULT...THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH HAS
BEEN CANCELLED.

EVENING...

THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR

* PORTIONS OF EAST CENTRAL COLORADO...SOUTH CENTRAL COLORADO AND
  SOUTHEAST COLORADO...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN EAST
  CENTRAL COLORADO...EL PASO COUNTY AND TELLER COUNTY AND THE
  RAMPART RANGE. IN SOUTH CENTRAL COLORADO...FREMONT COUNTY...
  NORTHERN SANGRE DE CRISTO MOUNTAINS...SOUTHERN SANGRE DE
  CRISTO MOUNTAINS...WET MOUNTAIN VALLEY AND WET MOUNTAINS. IN
  SOUTHEAST COLORADO...CROWLEY COUNTY...EASTERN LAS ANIMAS
  COUNTY...HUERFANO COUNTY...OTERO COUNTY...PUEBLO COUNTY AND
  WESTERN LAS ANIMAS COUNTY.

* UNTIL 9 PM MDT THIS EVENING

* A VERY MOIST ATMOSPHERE IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN IN PLACE ACROSS
  SOUTHERN COLORADO INTO THIS EVENING. AT THE SURFACE...LOW
  LEVEL EASTERLY WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO ENHANCE THE DEVELOPMENT
  OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS...ESPECIALLY ALONG AND NEAR THE
  SOUTHEASTERN COLORADO MOUNTAINS INTO THIS EVENING. SHOWERS AND
  THUNDERSTORMS ARE PROJECTED TO BE EFFICIENT RAINFALL
  PRODUCERS...WITH LOCALIZED RAINFALL RATES UP TO TWO INCHES PER
  HOUR ANTICIPATED. IN ADDITION...AREAS THAT RECEIVED HEAVY
  RAINFALL OVER THE PAST SEVERAL DAYS WILL BE SUSCEPTIBLE TO
  FLASH FLOODING.

* FLOODING OF URBAN AREAS...CREEKS...ARROYOS AND NORMALLY DRY
  WASHES WILL BE POSSIBLE INTO THIS EVENING WEDNESDAY. HEAVY
  RAINFALL ON BURN SCARS MAY RESULT IN DANGEROUS MUD AND ASH
  FLOWS. HIGH FLOWS MAY OCCUR ON AREA STREAMS AND RIVERS DUE TO
  INCREASED RUNOFF.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
