...RED FLAG WARNING FOR LIGHTNING IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM MDT /2 PM PDT/
THIS AFTERNOON TO 3 AM MDT /2 AM PDT/ THURSDAY...

.DISCUSSION...Instability associated with an approaching upper level
trough will combine with a moist atmosphere to generate scattered
showers and thunderstorms across much of the area today through late
tonight. These storms will be capable of producing up to 0.75 inches
of rainfall and outflow wind gusts to 45 mph. Storms will redevelop
on Thursday, mainly across northern zones, as a weak cold front
slowly tracks east across the area. Friday will be cool and drier
overall, as the upper level trough remains in position over the
Pacific Northwest.
