FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHEAST AND NORTH CENTRAL
COLORADO
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DENVER/BOULDER CO
409 AM MST SUN FEB 19 2017

.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...An upper level disturbance and
cold front will move northeast across the area this evening. Ahead
of this feature, deepening surface low pressure will bring gusty
southerly winds, warm temperatures, and elevated fire danger to much
of the plains today. Humidities are expected to stay above critical
levels but strong winds could fuel rapid grassland fire growth.

Snow showers will become widespread in the mountains very late this
afternoon and evening, with some accumulation expected above 8000-
8500 feet. On the plains, only isolated to scattered light rain
showers will be possible, with the higher coverage close to the
Wyoming border this evening.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Monday through Thursday...Fire Danger will be
elevated from Monday through Wednesday across northeast Colorado
...Palmer Divide and Foothills below 8000 feet due to much above
normal temperatures...low humidity and gusty winds at times. A
weather system and accompanying cold front will bring colder
temperatures along with a chance of precipitation on Thursday.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                     shown in those groups...
